Message in a bottle, part two

Here's Paige's message in a bottle from Ben Gunn

Dear receiver
Me name is Billy, Billy Gunn, I am stuck on an island called Treasure Island. Used to be a pirate. Yep I was first mate on Cap’n Flint’s ship. (You may of ‘eard of ‘im!) Anyway as you near the island the sea will become a desert. Not a bird will call, not a fish will jump. The reason for this will be clear when you see the starved sailors hanging in nets dangling from a cliff. (Caused by Cap’n Flint.)

Living on this island is torture especially if you’ve been ‘ere 2 WHOLE  YEARS! All I can eat is
coconuts and all I can drink is coconut milk. That darned Flint! It is all his fault!

How I wish I could be back home. I should have never become a pirate, I miss lamb and pork chops, plus all my friends. Also I miss playing tag even though I am old an’ I want to change me clothes!

If ya save me ya reward ‘ll be grand! I promise! OH FOR PETES SAKE SAVE ME!!!

                  From White beard Gunn.

  1. Excellent use of 'pirate-talk' makes this sound like an authentic letter. I also like the way you adapted the language of the book you were reading and used it here to describe the island. Maybe you could have included a little hint about the potential reward on offer? Something to really make any passing sailor sit up and think.

    1. I liked the the expression (which was MY idea!) I really like the way people in my class have used my idea and make their letters sound more realistic. :)
